From our March Mission trip to EWO we met a teacher at the El Morral School who mentioned that they really needed some computers. They were only able to teach computer theory because they did not have a computer they actually could touch and use.
In April, funds were raised to purchase 20 chrome books and send 3 people to hand carry the computers to Guatemala. God used multiple churches, individuals and Eyes Wide Open ministries to provide 3 plane tickets, the laptops, separate Spanish language keyboards and mice, table and chairs, power supplies, and a large metal cabinet for secure storage.
Much prayer support was provided and answered for the trip. We had no issues with customs who waved the import taxes. The laptops and other items were delivered safely and we successful were able to get each computer working before we left. Now this school for the first time can offer computer classes being taught by a trained Computer Science Teacher.
This will change the lives of these children who otherwise have no access to technology and will provide them with a certificate that will help them get a good job in the city. Thank you all for your generous donations!
