Marvin's Eye surgery is scheduled for February 18th!

I didn't update the group. We've been running around like crazy. Marvin came up with another cold last week so they can't operate while he's sick. so, were waiting for his dad to call and let us know when his cold has passed. We got him some meds and just trusting the lord for His perfect timing.

They made it there around 4:30 am. They're in line waiting to be seen. There are more than 100 people behind them. So, it's a good thing they did leave so early to get in line. They were able to see 3 specialist who all confirmed that the guidance from the doctor in Chiquimula to pursue laser surgery would have caused further damage to his eyes and he would have possible lost sight in his left eye as well. Y'all be praying for Marvin. At 12:30 am this morning Walter and Shirley, Samuel and Marvin are driving to the capital to get in line at a hospital to see an eye specialist. Praying for safe travels and for direction and wisdom for the doctors.

Thank y'all so much for this life changing gift. Both Victor and Paola expressed their gratitude and thanks to all y'all. They are going to set it up to a direct water flow and see how it turns out. Lord willing it'll work great and see some changes with the kids.

From our March Mission trip to EWO we met a teacher at the El Morral School who mentioned that they really needed some computers. They were only able to teach computer theory because they did not have a computer they actually could touch and use. In April, funds were raised to purchase 20 chrome books and send 3 people to hand carry the computers to Guatemala. This is Anderson from San Miguel. We were able to get him some clothes, shoes, toys and vitamins. He now has a new pair of shoes to wear to school!

This coming Monday Marvin goes to another doctor for a second opinion on his eye. Hopefully we'll be able to make a final decision with that and get some better results. The drops are helping with the Glaucoma pressure. Praise the Lord!

SCCC Missionary Team in March met the Perez family. It was very apparent that Marvin, their only son, was suffering with severe eye disorders in both eyes. With no access to medical care, Marvin would eventually lose his entire eyesight. Funds were quickly raised from local churches to send Marvin to an eye doctor to evaluate his condition. He was diagnosed with severe glaucoma in both his eyes.
